Ms. Chinomona is a veteran of Zimbabwe's liberation struggle. She was elected into Parliament in 1990. She has served a a Deputy Minister of Home Affairs. She was elected Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly in 2013. Ms. Chinomona is currently the President of the Senate.
