Jan Skopeček was born in 1980 in Hořovice, Czech republic.
He graduated in Economics and Management at the University of South Bohemia and Economic Policy at Prague University of Economics and Business, where he later earned Ph.D. in Economic policy and where he still lectures.
From 2004 to 2020 and from 2024 till now he is representative of the Central Bohemian Region. From 2006 to 2013, he was an adviser to President Václav Klaus.
Since 2017 he has been a Member of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, in the period 2017-2021 he served as Deputy Chairman of the Budget Committee and a member of the Committee on European Affairs. Since November 2021 he has been Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies. He serves as Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies in the current term of office of the Chamber of Deputies.
Jan Skopeček is a liberal economist defending the freedom of individuals and market economy. He focuses on issues of public finance and monetary integration.
