Our Autumn series of thematic online sessions will continue on Tuesday 04 November with an exchange on Governing with AI. This session will follow the launch of the new OECD report Governing with AI: The State of Play and Way Forward in Core Government Functions, which explores how governments can harness AI’s potential while managing its risks. The discussion will highlight how AI can enhance public service delivery, decision-making, and innovation, while addressing key challenges around transparency, accountability, and trust. 

The session will feature a presentation by Gillian Dorner, Deputy Director in the Public Governance Directorate of the OECD, followed by an interactive dialogue.
Interpretation will be provided in English, French and Spanish.

Adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in public administrations is growing, but governments face a range of challenges in scaling up AI applications, leading to many initiatives remaining in their pilot phase, according to a new OECD report.

February 2025 Parliamentary visits at the OECD

Beyond the plenary meeting, February was also marked by several parliamentary visits to the OECD: • MP Jennifer Maccarone, from the Assemblée nationale du Québec and a member of the Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie (APF), visited to discuss inclusive education in her capacity as Rapporteur for the Committee on Education, Culture, and Communication (CECC) of the APF. • Researchers from the External Policies Unit of the European Parliament undertook a study visit, meeting with OECD experts to discuss global cooperation, critical minerals, supply chain resilience, and development. • MP Julie Dzerowicz, a member of the Canadian House of Commons and Chair of the Canadian NATO Parliamentary Association, visited the OECD for an insightful discussion with economists from the Canadian country desk.
