Description
Thomas Van Rompaey is a Global Responsible Investment Manager at AXA Investment Managers (Alts), covering the real estate equity and debt portfolios across Europe, Japan, the US, and Australia. In his role he works with local ESG leads within Asset Management but also several other departments such as development, transactions and fund management.
Previously, Thomas served as a Senior Associate within the Global RI team and as ESG Lead for Benelux and Germany. In this role, he led successful initiatives related to the digitisation of data, renewable deployment, and strategic guidelines for Asset Management & Development teams.
Thomas's extensive experience also includes serving as the Real Estate MRV Track Lead at the UN Net Zero Asset Owner’s Alliance. In this capacity, he worked on the fourth version of the Target Setting Protocol, completely phasing in the real estate sector and contributed to the CRREM Global Scientific & Investor Committee and other industry associations.
Additionally, Thomas is co lead of the IIGCC Adaption and Resilience Working Group, which focuses on providing dedicated guidance for the real estate sector ranging from Physical Climate risk assessment to mitigation and adaptions strategies.
Thomas holds a Bachelor of Nursing, a Bachelor of International Business Management (Double degree from FHNW University of Business & KdG), a Master in Finance from Antwerp Management School and the Certified ESG Analyst from EFFAS.
