Description

Lucia Fuselli is an energy and climate finance expert with over 15 years in international policy and finance at the nexus of climate change and the energy transition. She is the founder and chairman of Climate Strategies Consulting, and has been advising governments, IGOs, financiers and corporations on strategic governance and investments aimed at achieving carbon neutrality and overall sustainability. She has authored several publications on accelerating the energy transition and mainstreaming climate finance, for the World Economic Forum, the Green Grids Initiative and COP29, and is a regular keynote speaker and moderator at high-level international events and media platforms. She led the Energy Sector of the Green Climate Fund, where she was also acting Head for Transport, Decarbonization and Infrastructure, she worked as Senior Advisor for COP28 and Senior Program Officer for the World Economic Forum's Energy, Materials and Infrastructure Platform, where she shaped thought leadership on energy security and industrial decarbonization. Prior to that, she held positions in development banking (AFD, European Investment Bank) and international government (EU Parliament). She also briefly served at Director level in big4 consultancies and on mega-projects (sustainability and infrastructure finance) and was a Leadership Fellow at the World Energy Council. She co-chairs the Finance ambit for the Green Grids Initiative (GGI), where she led the development of and consultation on Principles to harmonize the green finance attribution, obtaining endorsement from the Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI) as well as the backing of institutional investors groups, the wider financing community, and international organizations such as IRENA/UNEZA. She is also the Energy and Climate Finance Director of the Climate and Water Initiative (CWI) and Steering Committee member of the World Association of Public Partnerships (WAPPP).
