Since June 27, 2023, Maximos Senetakis has assumed the duties of Deputy Minister of Development, responsible for Research, Technology and Innovation, after his recent election as a Member of Parliament in the elections of June 25. That was his fifth election. He was elected Member of Parliament in the elections of May 2012, as well as in the next election on June 17 of the same year. During his first parliamentary term, he was elected Secretary of the Presidium of the Parliament. He was appointed a member of the Committee on Research and Technology and the Committee on Educational Affairs. In the July 2019 elections, he was re-elected as an MP. He was appointed a member of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee and the Production and Trade Committee. In the May 21, 2023 elections, he was elected for the fourth time as an MP, as well as in the next election on June 25 of the same year. Maximos Senetakis was born on July 17, 1976, in Heraklion, Crete, where he grew up. He graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering of Metsovio National Technical University. He worked as an executive of construction companies, linking his name to essential Regional Unity of Heraklion projects. He is an elected member of the Delegation of the Technical Chamber of Eastern Crete and a member of the Association of Civil Engineers. At the same time, he participates in the permanent scientific Committee of "Development Projects" of the Technical Chamber of Heraklion. Maximos Senetakis is married to the architect-engineer Kostanza Schizaki, with whom he has two sons, George and Kostis. He speaks English and French.
