Title: Dr. Wendy Cukier, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Strategy; Founder and Academic Director, Diversity Institute; Academic Director, Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (WEKH); and Academic Research Director, Future Skills Centre (FSC) Bio: Formerly Vice President of Research and Innovation at one of Canada’s largest universities, Dr. Cukier has overseen large research projects, policy development, social innovation and organizational transformation processes across sectors. She is the author of several books including the best seller, Innovation Nation, and over 200 papers. As the Academic Research Director for the $260m Future Skills Centre, she has overseen a comprehensive research agenda and innovative pilot projects, including work on digital skills, the transition to net zero and implications for inclusive employment and skills. Her focus is on strategies for transition planning in SMEs, inclusive approaches to upskilling and reskilling, and the role of women, Indigenous and diverse entrepreneurs in sustainability. She serves on many committees and boards and has founded and led social enterprises and for profit start ups. Her work has been widely recognized by community organizations and as a Meritorious Service Cross, one of Canada’s highest civilian honors. She was one of the "100 Alumni who shaped the Century" of the University of Toronto. She holds a PhD, MBA, MA, and 2 honourary doctorates (Laval and Concordia).
