OECD Local Skills Week: Future-Proofing Local Skills Systems

European Federation for Intercultural Learning

Erasmus+ School Programmes Development Officer and OECD Youthwise pilot cohort member

I am a 29-year-old European citizen coming from the Czech Republic, but currently living in Belgium. I feel very fortunate to have dedicated the past 10 years to volunteering and working in the fields of education and youth. What started as volunteering for a large student organization taking care of exchange students and continued with working for a global youth development programme, then led to supporting businesses in upskilling their employees and attracting young people to STEM opportunities. All of this steered me to become a member of the pilot cohort of OECD Youthwise. I currently work as an Erasmus+ School Programmes Development Officer for European Federation for Intercultural Learning, where I coordinate intercultural learning opportunities for secondary school pupils, with a special focus on youth with fewer opportunities, and teachers. I thrive by helping people realize their full potential and connecting various stakeholders to make this happen.
