Description

Dirk Lüerßen is Managing Director of the Wachstumsregion Ems-Achse e.V., a private consortium for local development in Lower Saxony (Germany), and of Ems-Achse GmbH, an affiliated company (2011-ongoing). In the past, he worked as press spokesman and personal assistant to the Managing Director of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of East Frisia and Papenburg (2000-2002), and as Managing Director for the areas of international relations, trade and services of the same Chamber, as well as of the German branch of Junior Chamber International (2001-2011). From 2008 to 2011, he was the Managing Director for the area of training and professional development and spokesman for the Chambers of Industry and Commerce of Lower Saxony. He is a member of various committees, including the university council of the Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences, the advisory board of the Historical-Ecological Education and Chairman of the supervisory board of Familienservice Weser-Ems eG. He obtained a PhD in political science and history.
