Description
Lea Giménez has been appointed as Advisor to the Office of the Executive President of CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, with the purpose of supporting the implementation of the strategic agenda to position the institution as the green bank for sustainable and inclusive growth in the region.
Born in Paraguay, Lea Giménez has an outstanding professional trajectory across the public and private sectors. She has served as Minister of Finance, Secretary General and Chief of the Presidential Cabinet of the Republic of Paraguay, and Vice Minister of Economy—becoming the first woman to hold each of these positions. She also played a strategic role as a member of the Board of Directors of the Itaipú Binational Entity.
At the international level, Ms. Giménez served as Division Chief of the Institutions for Development Sector at the Inter-American Development Bank, where she led the agendas on Citizen Security and Justice, Public Management, Digital Transformation of the State, and Transparency and Integrity. She also worked as an Economist in the Poverty and Macroeconomics Global Practices at the World Bank, focusing on countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, and South Asia. Additionally, she was an ad honorem Board Member of the Open Contracting Partnership and an Adjunct Professor at Lehigh University.
The Advisor to the Office of the Executive President holds a PhD in Economics from Lehigh University (Pennsylvania, USA). She also completed Executive Education programs at Harvard University and Columbia University.
