21st Steering Group Meeting

This session will focus on reviewing the main outcomes of the 2025 Ministerial on Governance and discussing the next steps for the OECD Regional Programme for Latin America and the Caribbean (LACRP) in the governance priority for the next cycle. Guiding questions for discussion How can the OECD support efforts in LAC to strengthen governance along the lines of the three main topics addressed in the ministerial: citizen trust, good governance of infrastructure and PPPs, optimising the administration and delivery of public services, and integrity? Given the advances and areas of improvement identified in the Stocktaking Exercise of the Action Plan on Integrity for Good Governance (2018), what should the LACRP Governance priority focus on in the years to come? How can partner international organisations engage and support this process?

• What key lessons from the 2026-2029 cycle should be considered for the next cycle? • What is the vision for the LACRP for the next decade? • How can the LACRP be more impactful and translate policy dialogue and comparative indicators into effective reform processes for the benefit of citizens?

• How can synergies between bilateral cooperation and regional cooperation be reinforced? • How can the OECD contribute more effectively to regional summits and integration processes? • How can partner IOs and the OECD reinforce each other in working with the region? • How can cross-regional synergies be enhanced, notably with South-East-Asia and Africa?
