As global dynamics continue to shift, IPAs are being called upon to rethink and reimagine their roles. This session will use strategic foresight – a structured way of exploring different plausible futures – to anticipate change and prepare for it. Participants will examine how IPAs might evolve under four contrasting global scenarios, from deglobalisation to renewed global integration, and from boom to recession. They will reflect on how these different contexts could reshape their agencies’ mandates, budgets, functions and cooperation mechanisms, and what strategies may help them remain effective and relevant in the coming decades.
