Biography

Luděk Niedermayer, a Czech politician and economist, has been a Member of the European Parliament for the Czech Republic since July 2014. He currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs. Niedermayer studied cybernetics, informatics, and systems theory at Masaryk University in Brno. He spent 17 years at the Czech National Bank, holding various roles including Vice Governor, and later served as director of the Consulting Department at Deloitte Czechia. Niedermayer has contributed to international financial administrations, participating in working groups at the Bank for International Settlements and representing the Czechia at meetings of the IMF and IBRD. Additionally, he chaired the Scientific Council of the Czech Banking Association for 3 years. He lives near Prague is married, and has three children.
