IEA Executive Director, Dr Fatih Birol, will discuss the profound and long-lasting changes that are taking place in global energy markets and how they have the potential to hasten the transition towards a more secure energy system and to meeting global climate goals. He will also share his views on priorities policymakers need to focus on if the energy system is to fuel human prosperity without damaging our planet for current and future generations, and to do so in ways that are fair, that benefit the people who need it the most and that thereby maintain strong public support.
