Description
Yaneth Giha holds a degree in Economics from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia, a Master's degree in Political Studies from Universidad Javeriana, and a Master's degree in War Studies from King's College London.
Ms. Giha has held various positions in the Colombian public sector, the most recent as Minister of Education, between November 2016 and August 2018. Prior to that, for close to two years, she served as General Director for Colciencias, the entity that leads and implements the country's science, technology, and innovation policy. Additionally, she worked for several years in the Ministry of Defense, as Viceminister of Defense, Director of Science and Technology and Director of Planning and Budgeting.
In the private sector, she worked as General Director of the Center of Leadership and Management, Director of Innovation for the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá and prior to joining FIFARMA she worked as Executive President of AFIDRO, the association that represents in Colombia the pharmaceutical research and development companies.
In May 2022, Yaneth assumed the position of Executive Director of FIFARMA, the Latin American Federation of the Pharmaceutical Industry.
