Description
Born in 1972, Mr. Emmanuel Baudran is an agricultural engineer and a graduate of AgroParisTech in agricultural sciences applied to developing countries (1996). He began his career as an agricultural economist in Asia (Laos, Vietnam) and the Pacific (New Caledonia), working for the French Development Agency (AFD), NGOs and chambers of agriculture.
After ten years of field experience, he was recruited by AFD as a project manager in Paris, then as programme manager for rural development in Morocco (irrigation, rural roads, agricultural credit).
He was then appointed AFD country director in Tanzania (2014-2018) and then in Indonesia (2018-2022), where he contributed to the development of AFD's portfolio in the energy, transport, water and urban development sectors, in line with global issues related to the ocean and climate change.
At 53 years of age and with a career devoted to development operations in emerging and developing countries, Mr. Emmanuel Baudran is now Deputy Executive Director of Sustainable Development, in charge of Infrastructure at the AFD.
