Description
Kai Bongs is the director of the quantum technologies institute of the German Aerospace Centre, DLR and holds a professorship in physics at Ulm University. He has been dedicated to developing and promoting quantum sensing from the laboratory to real-world applications since over 25 years, studying and working at the universities of Hannovr, Yale, Hamburg and Birmingham. He has been leading the UK National Quantum Technology Hub in Sensors and Metrology / Timing and has received the IOP Dennis Gabor Medal and Prize in recognition of his work on quantum sensors and their applications.
