Professor in Quantum Physics and Quantum Metrology at the Niels Bohr Institute. From 2017-2023 Head of Department at the Niels Bohr Institute. Now Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Novo Nordisk Quantum Computing Program - a 1.5 B Dkr. investment in a full stack fault tolerant quantum computer program. Coordinating the University of Copenhagen Quantum initiative and nationally Chair of Danish Quantum Community. Trained in mathematics and physics at University of Copenhagen, graduating in 1991 while in parallel obtaining a French degree in physics - D.E.A. de Physico-Chemie Moléculaire at the Université de Paris-Sud. Obtained a PhD degree from Université de Paris-Sud followed by a post doctorate studies in Utrecht, Pisa and Copenhagen. Has held positions in the Netherlands, Italy, USA, and France. Speaks Danish, Dutch, French and English. Has received numerous prizes - among 6 prizes for teaching at universities.
