Tay Shi’an is the Director for Innovation, Research and Development at Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), where she is responsible for strategies to support R&D as a source of long-term economic competitive advantage for Singapore. These include programmes executed by MTI statutory boards, namely the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), the Economic Development Board (EDB) and EnterpriseSG, that support technology translation to industry, develop research talent, and build a vibrant startup ecosystem in Singapore.
