Description

Kyriakos Pierrakakis serves as the Minister of State and Digital Governance in the Cabinet of Kyriakos Mitsotakis. A computer and political scientist, Mr Pierrakakis was previously Director of Research of diaNEOsis Research and Policy Institute, a think tank based in Athens, focusing on the economic and social reconstruction of the country. Mr Pierrakakis has also worked on technology policy for various research institutes in Greece and abroad. He has notably worked as Innovation Coordinator at Athens Information Technology (AIT), as an advisor to the Greek Ministry of Economic Development, as well as a researcher at both the MIT’s Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research (CEEPR) and the Center for American Progress. He has further headed the Greek Youth Foundation, and served as member of the Greek government’s negotiating team with the troika of lenders in 2014. Kyriakos Pierrakakis is a graduate of MIT’s Engineering Systems Division, the Harvard Kennedy School and the Athens University of Economics and Business.
