Katie Simmonds is an English qualified lawyer that specialises in sports law. As SIGA’s Global Chief Operating Officer, she plays an integral role in the development and expansion of SIGA, the world`s largest coalition for sport integrity and is responsible for onboarding new members and partners.
As a member of SIGA’s Executive Committee, Katie reports directly to the Global CEO on all legal, compliance and commercial matters. She is a sports governance expert and is responsible for SIGA’s internal governance and works externally with a wide variety of sports organisations to support their adoption of the SIGA Universal Standards on Sport Integrity. Katie leads SIGA’s independent global audit team that is responsible for SIRVS – the world’s first ever independent rating and certification system for global sport – to usher sport into a new culture of accountability, transparency and compliance.
As Managing Director of SIGAWomen, Katie leads a successful global mentorship programme for aspiring female leaders in sport that connects 150 international women in the industry annually across 35 countries. The mission of SIGAWomen is to narrow the gender gap in terms of the number of women represented in the decision-making organs of sports organisations. Katie organises the annual SIGA Summit on Female Leadership in Sport in New York and is responsible for curating the content, delivering commercial partners and maximising the impact. Katie is a passionate advocate for gender equity and practices sport daily.
