Biography

Mrs. Florence Freda Dennis is the Division Manager – Integrity and Prevention, in the Office Integrity and Anti-Corruption of the African Development Bank (AfDB) with over 25 years experience in the Maritime Industry, Governance and Anti-Corruption work on the continent and has collaborated with International Organisations to develop strategies in the fight against corruption. She presently leads a team that develops preventive measures to proactively reduce the potential for misconduct, fraud, corruption and illicit financial flows in AfDB financed operations and activities. Prior to joining the Bank in 2014, she managed Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition for 10 years bringing together the private sector, civil society and public governance institutions at the national, regional and continental level in the fight against corruption. She was a technical expert for the UNCAC review process in Ghana, the development of Whistleblower Policy and National Anti-Corruption Action Plan in Ghana. Her work on Collective Action gained recognition by the World Bank Institute leading to the implementation of contract monitoring projects in Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Ghana and Liberia, building national efforts for accountability and effective public service delivery. She holds a first degree in Social Sciences from the University of Science and Technology, Ghana, a Masters in Shipping Management from the World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden and a Masters in Anti-Corruption Studies from the International Anti-Corruption Academy in Vienna, Austria.
