Building on the momentum of previous editions of Roadmaps to New Nuclear, the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) and the US Department of Energy (DOE) will co-host the fourth edition and will invite ministers, senior government officials, industry leaders, investors and representatives from across the nuclear sector to Paris to exchange experiences, share best practices and strengthen international co-operation on the deployment of new nuclear energy projects.
As countries pursue greater energy security, economic competitiveness and increasing electrification across their economies, demand for reliable and affordable electricity continues to grow. Nuclear energy is playing an increasingly important role in meeting this demand, with more countries considering to expand existing programmes, launch new projects and explore advanced nuclear technologies.
At the same time, delivering new nuclear capacity at scale presents significant challenges, including workforce development, supply chain readiness, financing, fuel supply security, regulatory preparedness and project delivery. Roadmaps to New Nuclear 2026 will focus on addressing these challenges, sharing recent experiences and identifying practical solutions.
The conference will serve as a platform to strengthen partnerships and advance pathways for delivering new nuclear projects at the scale and pace required to meet growing global electricity demand.
