Biography
Hina Iwasaki is a Member of the House of Representatives of Japan, elected in February 2026. She serves on the Committee on Financial Affairs, the Special Committee on Consumer Affairs, and the Special Committee on Political Reform.
Before entering politics, she worked in investment banking at UBS Securities, impact investment, and as CFO of a fintech startup, where she led fundraising, governance, and business operations. She worked closely with technology teams and promoted the use of data, digital platforms, and AI-enabled solutions to improve financial services, operational efficiency, and user experience.
Her policy interests include responsible AI governance, fintech, startup growth, and the relationship between AI and economic security. She aims to contribute to international dialogue on trustworthy, human-centered AI that supports economic growth while ensuring consumer protection.
