Biography

Hon. Dr. George Vital Zammit is a Member of Parliament elected on behalf of Partit Nazzjonalista in Malta, where he serves as spokesperson for Research and Innovation. He is also Senior lecturer at the Department of Policy, Politics and Governance within the University of Malta. He previously read for Degrees in Business and Computing, and Management, a Masters in Diplomatic Studies and PhD in Politics at the University of Sheffield, with a thesis on the international dimension of party groups within the European Parliament. After joining academia, he served as Head of Department (2013-2017), and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy - FEMA (2016-2018). In 2020 he was appointed Chair of the Faculty Research Ethics Committee within FEMA. Amongst his teaching portfolio are study units on Comparative Government, Good Governance, Leadership, Political Parties, Parliament and Legislation, and Regulatory Policy. Hon. Zammit is an alumnus of the Salzburg Global Seminar (2015) and a Fulbright Scholar in 2019 at the School for Public Affairs and Administration, Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA. He coordinated the electoral programme of Partit Nazzjonalista and was elected in the general election of 30 May 2026.
