Description

This roundtable will convene philanthropic leaders, development finance institutions, multilateral development banks and key stakeholders to explore how blended finance can accelerate climate and nature-positive investments. Despite growing recognition of philanthropy's catalytic role, its participation in blended finance remains limited, representing a small share of concessional capital. The session will assess pathways to strengthen philanthropic engagement by examining real-world experiences, identifying barriers and highlighting opportunities where philanthropic capital can most effectively de-risk and mobilise larger flows of public and private investment. Discussions will also contribute to the development of the OECD netFWD Blended Finance Handbook for Philanthropies, helping shape more inclusive and effective financing approaches for a low-emission, climate-resilient future.
