Description

Rapid electrification of energy end-use sectors, built with modern and flexible power grids and boosted by clean energy, is the solution for lasting energy security and climate mitigation. For affordable electrification, financial solutions and stronger domestic regulatory frameworks are critical. This high-level plenary will explore pathways forward by showcasing success stories of key enabling conditions in overcoming policy, regulatory and fiscal barriers, and identify de-risking strategies as well as economic and financial instruments to accelerate electrification. The outcomes of the dialogue will identify cost-effective solutions for investment – especially institutional investment – in renewable energy, energy efficiency and industrial electrification, and help to address investment bottlenecks in modern grids.
