Biography
Secretary to the Committee on Migration, International Protection and Economic Co-operation
Ms Angela Garabagiu is an experienced international civil servant with a long-standing commitment to the protection of human rights. She began her career in the field of democratic governance and development, working with international organizations such as UNDP, IMF, and the World Bank-supported projects in the Republic of Moldova. Since 1999, she has held several administrative positions at the Council of Europe, including as Secretary of several committees of the Parliamentary Assembly starting 2010. She is now Secretary to the Committee on Migration, International Protection and Economic Co-operation at PACE. With this Committee, she supported Assembly members in preparing key reports on migration-related issues: climate-induced displacement, labour migration, integration, artificial intelligence and migration, and the situation of displaced people, including children, affected by the war in Ukraine. She holds a Master's degree in European Studies from the College of Europe.
