Biography

The Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Thai Senate I am Nirat Yoopakdee, born on 27 February 1958, currently serves as Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and as a Senator representing professionals engaged in occupations relating to the environment, urban and regional planning, real estate, public utilities, natural resources, energy, and related fields. I hold a Bachelor of Engineering from Khon Kaen University and a Master of Business Administration from Rangsit University. Prior to my current role, I served as Senator for Chaiyaphum Province from 2000 to 2006 and was a member of the Senate Committees responsible for drafting the Bank of Thailand Bill and the Islamic Bank of Thailand Bill. I have extensive experience in real estate development and currently serves as Managing Director of Regent Green Power Co., Ltd. (2007–now). Since 1988, I have developed more than 30,000 condominium units for low-income earners under the Condominium Housing Development Program of the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI).
