Biography
Maria-Gabriela Horga is Senator on behalf of the National Liberal Party, Chair of the Budget, Finance, Banking and Capital Market Committee and member of the Romanian Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. She was first elected MP in December 2020 in the Chamber of Deputies. Her parliamentary work focuses on financial sector development, capital market stability and improving SMEs’ access to financing.
In December 2023, she was appointed by Parliament in the position of Vice-President for Investments and Financial Instruments at the Financial Supervisory Authority, serving until December 2024.
Previously to her election in Parliament, she was State Secretary with responsibilities in public finances, foreign investment and taxation.
She graduated from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies in International Economic Relations and holds a PhD in Management. She has over 15 years of academic experience, currently being an A/Prof. at the same university.
