Biography

Tomas Martinaitis is a Member of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and serves on the National Security and Defence Committee. His work focuses on national and regional development, security policy, and strengthening democratic governance. Before his election in 2024, he was Deputy Mayor of Akmenė District Municipality for over five years, coordinating strategic programs, EU-funded projects, and policies in education, culture, sports, and youth affairs. He ensured effective public service delivery and cooperation with communities, NGOs, and national and international partners. Tomas holds degrees in Political Science and Public Administration and is currently pursuing a PhD focused on smart governance in local government. He has participated in international leadership programs, including IVLP, and is active in civic initiatives and the Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union.
