Description
In his role, Andrew Purvis leads programs spanning environment, safety and health, technology innovation, people development, industry and product sustainability — all central to worldsteel’s mission of supporting the steel industry toward greater environmental performance, climate action and sustainable operations. He has more than 30 years of experience in and around the steel sector, having held roles in the U.K., the Netherlands, Belgium and Australia — increasingly focused on environmental performance, greenhouse gas abatement technologies and policy. Purvis is a Chartered Engineer. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electronic and electrical engineering from the University of Leeds and an M.B.A. with distinction from Warwick University.
