Description

Prof. Emeritus Borwornsak Uwanno is a legal scholar and public official currently serving as the Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand. His professional career is defined by extensive contributions to public law, constitutional framework development, and public administration. He has held several significant appointments within the Thai government and legislative bodies, including Secretary General of the Cabinet, President of the National Constitution Drafting Committee, and Secretary General of King Prajadhipok’s Institute. He has also served as a member of the Council of State and as a Senator. His technical expertise has been applied across various sectors, including tenures on the Board of Directors for the Bank of Thailand and Thai Airways International. In the academic domain, he is a former Dean of the Faculty of Law at Chulalongkorn University, where he currently holds the title of Professor Emeritus. In recognition of his academic contributions, he was awarded the National Outstanding Researcher Award in Law by the National Research Council of Thailand. He earned his LL.B. (First Class Honours) from Chulalongkorn University and is a Barrister-at-Law (Thai Bar). He holds a D.S.U. in Administrative Law from the Université de Paris II and a Doctorate in Public Law from the Université de Paris X (Nanterre). For his international service and academic ties, he has been appointed Officier de L’Ordre National du Mérite (France) and received the Grand Cross of the Order of Orange-Nassau (Netherlands).
