The Green Rio opening panel will bring together relevant speakers from the Amazon , Green Economy stakeholders and Banco do Brasil to debate the Echoes of COP30 and future scenarios.

Blue Economy RIO SummitGreen Rio Summit 2025

Green Rio is a marketplace event that has taken place in Rio de Janeiro since 2012 and promotes bioeconomy, sustainability and innovation. Green Rio is already known as an international platform that brings together exhibitors, conferences and business meetings.

Green Rio 2024 brought together 4,470 visitors from 12 countries, 91 exhibitors, and 170 speakers.

In its 2025 edition, Green Rio will present Echoes of COP30, Blue Economy, Water and Food Security, Regional Clusters and Circular Economy, among other topics.

AMAZONIA

Conference: Echoes from COP30 – Representatives from Government, Research, Finance and Civil Society will debate the results and challenges of COP30.

Exhibitors: Amazon Creative Laboratories (LCAs) – Combining traditional knowledge with science and Industry 4.0, Amazônia 4.0 develops advanced technologies and methods to transform Amazonian inputs into high-value-added products.

SMEs from Amazonas will bring products and will present projects with interest in partnerships.

FOOD SECURITY AND WATER SECURITY RELATED TO CITIES AND URBAN-RURAL INTEGRATION

Debate to discuss the challenges to implement the 2030 Agenda and to promote more sustainable and resilient urban development, including social participation and more inclusive and equitable cities. The growing movement towards urban-rural integration will be present in this debate as well as:

Food chain stakeholders.
Water Security Governance.
International Cooperation.

BLUE ECONOMY

Conference: Social, Environmental and Economic Impacts of the Blue Economy. The State Secretariat for the Environment and Sustainability of Rio de Janeiro (SEAS) is committed in promoting the Blue Economy, seeking to integrate sustainable development with coastal management and environmental preservation. This includes startups to blue economy challenges, and debates on climate change and the importance of coastal management. Rio de Janeiro has an OECD study that highlights the potential of Rio de Janeiro as a Blue Economy hub in Latin America.
Exhibitors: Blue Economy stakeholders - Naval Industry - Blue Economy SMEs – Universities – International Cooperation. Sanitation as a priority and demonstration of how coastal cities are committed with the blue economy scenario.

BIOECONOMY AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Conference: Bioeconomy and Circular Economy, International Cooperation.

Exhibitors: State of Rio de Janeiro and municipal government initiatives , Industry and Regional Clusters- Research and Innovation , Bioeconomy stakeholders.
Launching: The Technological Center for Agricultural Innovation (PITec Agro), project, coordinated by Embrapa, has several institutional partners, such as the State Secretariat for Economic Development, Industry, Commerce and Services of Rio de Janeiro (SEDEICS).
It aims to contribute to the improvement of the sector's technological innovation, creating conditions for obtaining faster and more accurate results for the demands of the productive sector, based on technological assets developed by agricultural research.

ROUNDTABLES AND MEETINGS

At Green Rio, one possibility to be explored is the organization of roundtables in dedicated meeting rooms, depending on the number of international participants interested. These sessions would provide a focused environment for governments, organizations and companies to address shared challenges, exchange perspectives and explore opportunities for cooperation on sustainability, bioeconomy and the blue economy.

Another possibility is to host collaborative meeting tables, also adapted to demand and interest, where diverse participants can jointly reflect on practical challenges and outline ideas for future initiatives.
