Presentation

Ms Bridget Gannon is the Assistant Secretary responsible for the Online Safety Branch at the Australian Government Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts (DITRDCA). The Online Safety Branch: provides research and advice on online safety policy issues including the Online Safety Act 2021; Is responsible for governance and oversight of Australia’s eSafety Commissioner; and leads on international efforts to address online harms and Australia’s work through international forums on online safety. In May 2022, Ms Gannon was one of Australia’s delegates to the second G20 Digital Economy Working Group meeting in Indonesia. Since joining the department in 2015, Ms Gannon has held a number of executive and senior executive positions in the Communications portfolio. Prior to joining the department, Ms Gannon was a Director at the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet from 2012 to 2015. From 2003 to 2006 she was a policy analyst on competition policy issues with the Department of the Treasury.
