Description

Justus Wabuyabo is the Chief Executive Officer of Kenya’s Nuclear Power & Energy Agency (NuPEA), where he leads national planning and institutional development for Kenya’s nuclear energy programme. He joined NuPEA in 2019 as Director of Legal and Regulatory Services and Corporation Secretary, before being appointed CEO. Prior to this, he served as General Manager for Legal and Corporate Services at the National Water and Harvesting Authority, and has held academic appointments as a lecturer at the Kenya School of Law and Mount Kenya University. Mr. Wabuyabo is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over 22 years of professional experience. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Moi University and a Master’s degree in International Law from the University of Nairobi. He is a Certified Public Secretary, Commissioner of Oaths, Notary Public and Accredited Governance Auditor, and is a member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), East African Law Society (EALS), Commonwealth Lawyers’ Association (CLA), and the Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS). His current work includes advancing regulatory readiness and designing sovereign support mechanisms to enable the financing of Kenya’s first nuclear power project.
