Description
Rose Carson is the First Secretary (Primary Industries) at New Zealand’s Permanent Mission in Geneva, representing New Zealand’s multilateral agricultural trade interests at the World Trade Organization. As part of this role, Rose also serves on the bureau of the OECD’s Joint Working Party on Agriculture and Trade, contributing to international discussions on sustainable and rules-based trade. Rose joined the New Zealand Permanent Mission in February 2024 after six years with New Zealand’s Ministry for Primary Industries, where she worked across several policy areas, most recently as a Senior Policy Analyst in MPI’s trade policy team working on a range of bilateral and multilateral agricultural trade issues.
She is also currently the First Secretary for Primary Industries in New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and is based in Geneva.
