Description

Dr. Annelies Deuss is a Senior Agricultural Policy Analyst in the Trade and Agriculture Directorate at the OECD, where she leads the work on agricultural trade. She previously held positions as a visiting assistant professor of economics at Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, USA) and agricultural economist at the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO). Annelies Deuss holds a Ph.D. in agricultural economics from Cornell University (USA), an M.A in development economics from the University of Bologna (Italy), a M.Sc in agricultural engineering and B.Sc in bio-engineering from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium). Her recent work focuses on agricultural sustainability and trade, digital opportunities in agricultural trade, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, agricultural export restrictions, marine transportation costs and public stockholding policies. She is the OECD representative for the G-20 Agricultural Market Information System (AMIS) Initiative.
