Description

Assia Elgouacem is an Economist at the OECD’s Economics Department, and the incoming Acting Head of the Tax and Environment Unit at the OECD's Centre for Tax Policy and Administration. Her work sits at the intersection of environmental, energy and economic growth policy. In particular, she focuses on the enabling factors that propel countries towards sustainable and inclusive growth, including environmental taxation, fossil-fuel subsidy reform and structural reform in general. Assia received her PhD and Master’s degrees in economics from Sciences Po Paris and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Philosophy from Middlebury College in Vermont.
