Description

Justine Sass has over 30 years of development experience in the areas of education, health, gender equality and social justice at global, regional and national levels. She is presently the Chief of the Section of Education for Inclusion and Gender Equality at UNESCO Headquarters where she actively supports evidence generation, policy development, teacher professional development and curriculum with a strong emphasis on equity and inclusion. She spearheaded UNESCO’s first strategy on gender equality in and through education and has driven new strategic initiatives focused on girls’ participation, learning and retention in STEM education and boys’ disengagement from education. Before joining UNESCO, Justine worked for other international organizations, NGOs and government agencies across Asia and the Pacific, Sub-Saharan and North Africa, and Eastern Europe. She holds a BA from Princeton University, an MSC from the London School of Economics and an MPH from the Université de Paris VI.
