The oceanographic ship Prof. Luiz Carlos, from the State University of Rio de Janeiro, was designed to support the development of teaching, research and extension projects in the most varied areas of knowledge. With 30.5 meters long and 7.8 meters wide, the Prof. Luiz Carlos exceeds 250 tons, has the capacity to sail with 30 people, as well as autonomy to remain at sea for up to 15 days.
This ship aims to improve the monitoring of pollution in Guanabara Bay, Ilha Grande Bay, as well as other bays, and coastal and oceanic regions, allowing us to understand and solve challenges related to fishing, marine farms and other natural resources. Limited places.
