Description

He holds a PhD in Sociology and a Master's degree in Sociology and Statistics from the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS). He is a Social Anthropologist from the University of Chile. He specializes in the dialogue between methodologies and data analysis at the territorial level, with an emphasis on rural development in Latin America. He has led several regional projects funded by IDRC, GIZ, ECLAC, FAO, IFAD, IDB, and the Ford Foundation, among others. He has taught at universities in Chile, Colombia, Spain, France, and Mexico. He is the director of Rimisp – the Latin American Center for Rural Development in Chile and was a member of the Presidential Expert Advisory Commission for updating poverty measurement in Chile.
