Josephine W. (“Josie”) Thomas is an Assistant United States Attorney who is currently serving on detail at the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as the Resident Legal Advisor with the Department of Justice’s Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (DOJ/OPDAT). In this role since January 2022, Ms. Thomas works closely with Argentine federal judges, prosecutors, and law enforcement to strengthen Argentina’s capacity to identify, investigate, prosecute, and disrupt complex transnational organized crime, including terrorism, terrorist financing, and money laundering.
