First Ministerial Discussion: OECD – Southeast Asia Partnerships for Strengthening Supply Chain Resilience
Following disruptions over the past two years, supply chain resilience has emerged as a policy priority for governments and business alike. ASEAN and OECD ministers and high-level representatives will be invited to share perspectives on challenges and responses to improve supply chain resilience in the near term, focusing on the role of openness to trade and investment, free trade agreements, the global tax agenda, and policies that improve the business climate for investment, including SME policies. • How can policy-makers ensure markets remain open and facilitate the movement of goods in times of supply chain disruptions – namely between the OECD and ASEAN regions? • How can policy-makers attract high quality investment and facilitate investment climate dialogue with the private sector? • Considering that SMEs form the back-bone of Southeast Asian economies, how can policy-makers best support SMEs to achieve greater resilience and integration into global supply chains?

ASEAN and OECD ministers and high-level representatives will discuss how governments and business can collaborate to promote investment opportunities, improve economic resilience and to provide the foundations for a greener and digital future. • What impact will a continuous challenging external environment have on the resilience of ASEAN as well as OECD economies? • How can international co-operation, including between governments and the private sector improve economic resilience in the longer-term? • How can the OECD and its Member Countries support Southeast Asia countries to accelerate the twin transitions and promote responsible business conduct?
