Tim Jurka is Sr. Director of Data Engineering at LinkedIn, leading the global artificial intelligence and data science teams that build LinkedIn’s consumer platform, which today serves more than 810 million members in 200 countries and regions worldwide. LinkedIn’s engineering teams use principles of Responsible AI to deliver fair and equitable experiences to its members and creates open source tools that others can use to design fairness in large-scale AI systems. Prior to LinkedIn, Tim led machine learning efforts at Pulse, a news-reading app acquired by LinkedIn in 2013. Tim began his career in the data science space as a Ph.D. student in Political Science at UC Davis, where his research used machine learning, natural language processing, and network analysis to make sense of large-scale data sets.
