Dr. Jan Cornelius Peters is an economist and researcher at the Johann Heinrich von Thünen Institute, the Federal Research Institute for Rural Areas, Forestry and Fisheries in Germany. His research focuses on issues related to the spatial distribution of economic activity, interregional labor mobility, and regional disparities in labor market conditions and economic performance. In each case, a special focus is on rural areas. Before joining the Thünen Institute in 2016, Jan Cornelius worked as a researcher in the Regional Research Network of the Institute for Employment Research and successfully participated in the Doctoral program Quantitative Economics at Kiel University. Previously, he studied economics in Kiel (Germany), Jönköping (Sweden) and Turku / Åbo (Finland).
