Vice Minister for Tourism for the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Ghada Shalaby is a leading governmental official whose main responsibilities are assisting the Minister in drawing various strategies that aims towards increasing number of tourists arrivals, drawing strategies, regulations and policy making that ensures sustainable growth of the Tourism Sector in the Country. With specialized studies in Travel and Tourism, and over 30 years of experience in Inbound & Outbound Tourism, Aviation, Hospitality, Forex, VAT Refunds, Leisure and Corporate Travel Management, including extensive work in tourism digitization and marketing, Shalaby is working diligently in driving change in the Egyptian Tourism industry. Shalaby’s applied technical and leadership skills in various high-level positions at reputed international travel companies including American Express Global Business Travel, Kanoo Travel, and Thomas Cook, have contributed to the extensive capabilities in her current role. Ghada has been a key player in applying Egypt’s 2030 Vision through sustainable tourism developments, enhancing Rural Tourism, new touristic trends, the development of touristic, cultural and Holy sites, as well as restarting Tourism with the aim of ensuring a unique traveller experience and attracting more tourists to Egypt, are just some of the crucial functions she is currently overseeing.
