Daniel Quintero was born in the city of Medellín, he won the mayoralty with his independent citizen movement “Independientes”, in a historic election he became the youngest elected mayor in the history of this city with more than 303 thousand votes. He is an electronic engineer from the University of Antioquia, a finance specialist from the University of Los Andes and an MBA from Boston University, he also has studied in Public Finance Administration at Harvard University. He has more than 10 years of experience as a software developer within the ICT sector. He is an experienced and innovative entrepreneur who founded Intrasoft S.A. Colombia, a software development company. He was CEO of iNNpulsa Colombia, the government agency for the support of productivity, entrepreneurship and innovation. He served as Vice- Minister of Technologies and Innovation Systems and was also Vice Minister of Digital Economy of the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications of Colombia. He firmly believes that education is the best tool to combat inequality and achieving goals. One of his goals as mayor is for Medellín to become a great Software Valley that impacts Colombia and the world, responding to the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
