An updated glossary of key terms in AI and emerging technologies. In the year since our Brookings Institution Press book, Turning Point: Policymaking in the Era of Artificial Intelligence was published, there have been a number of concepts and scenarios we have added to our glossary. Our goal is to help those who don’t fully understand AI develop a better grasp of artificial intelligence, figure out the many ways it is being used, and envision the alternative scenarios we could face.
