Description
This side event brought together Ministers from OECD member and partner countries, international organisations, and key stakeholders in regional development to explore strategies for reconstruction and recovery. Discussions focused on public investment with a territorial approach and the co-ordination of short-term disaster response with longer-term regional development. The event highlighted Ukraine’s current strategies and priority needs, while offering a platform to exchange good practices, tools, and policy approaches that could support national and subnational efforts.
It also showcased innovative mechanisms Ukraine developed to strengthen local-level disaster response and reconstruction. Topics included how to prioritise subnational investments when resources were limited, design investment frameworks that reflected diverse territorial needs, leverage emerging technologies and data, and engage the private sector in recovery efforts.
